What is the formula for building a strong feed? Try these:

  • Commit to a posting frequency on a weekly basis and nail it! Post the same days and times every week!

    • The best posting time are:

      • M-Thurs - 8-9:30 PM

      • Friday - 4-5:00 PM

      • Saturday - before 10:00 AM

      • Sunday - 4:00 PM or 8-9:30PM

  • Create strong, colorful imagery that is your own; don't borrow from someone else!

    • Try using Canva, a free app, that allows the use of colorful borders, backgrounds and creative text overlays.

  • Use the entire square. avoid collages or cropped imagery.

  • Edit your photos with the same saturation and brightness every time you post.

  • Engage with your audience. <see below>

  • always tell your user what you want them to do. It's called a CTA: call to action.

      • DM if you're interested in this pair of shoes.

      • Like or tag a friend that would love this dress.

What's a content plan and why do I need one?

  • Planning your content in advance gives you a competitive advantage. 

  • Try a scheduling app in which you can review your entire grid and develop a schedule.

  • 60% of Instagram success is planning and having an actual strategy.

  • Pick a content theme. For example:

    • Mondays: feature an inspirational quote by famous designers in the fashion world.

    • Wednesdays: feature upcoming promotions or sales.

    • Fridays: feature newly-discounted items or newly-launched collections.

    • Saturdays: feature an item as worn by a celebrity that you have in stock. Tag that celebrity! Create a sense of urgency.

    • Sundays: feature a fun selfie of you workin' it on the floor or with your team members.


Would you ever walk into a party, strike up a conversation and then walk away from that individual? No, we wouldn't either!

  • Spend 30 minutes in the morning, lunch and/or evening responding to each and every comment. You're building a community.

  • Check your DMs daily.

  • engage with local shoppers by searching popular hashtags. There are many bloggers, influencers and wealthy women in suburbia.

  • leave authentic comments on your feed and others. No one likes spam.

  • check your response time...it could mean everything in terms of your next sale.

Just like a new diet or a new fitness routine...practice makes perfect. Social media is a moving target that changes daily. Results don't happen over night. Remember to:

  • research your audience...what do they like?

  • convert your feed into a business profile and keep it that way. Everyone loves babies and dogs but not for business. Allow them the freedom to contact you and on impulse when they're ready to spend money!

  • Check your insights weekly.

  • Engage with your audience...that doesn't mean just liking posts.

  • Research hashtags.

  • Use up to 30 hash tags every time you post.

  • Research trending topics in the world.
